- I’ve changed the plans for the football game on Saturday, the band students will be wearing jeans or khakis and the gray band t-shirt. It’s going to be warm, this might be more comfortable. They’re still reporting to the band room at 1, and dismissed after halftime.
- The next chance of a home game is going to be November 12th, the band will be marching and wearing full uniforms. We need to make sure everyone is there for that one. It’s really hard to do a performance like this with people missing, so please try to plan ahead. It’s over 2 weeks away so the kids who are working should hopefully be able to make sure they have the day off. We won’t know for sure if we have the game until November 5th.
- I’m seeking input on another fundraiser to do yet this fall. Last year we did the wickless candles, I can do that one again, or we can sell pizzas. They have both been approved, but I know we don’t want to just run around and ask people to buy more stuff. We will be doing pastry puffins and cheesecakes in Jan and March. So be watching for fundraiser info coming soon once we decide which one to sell.
- Lots of parents have asked me to put together an order for the blue “our band rocks” shirts. Before I had just given them to teachers and asked them to wear them and we had extras. But, since so many people have asked, if I can get an order of 20 or more shirts it will be cost effective. Let me know if you want one, and what size. The shirts are $10.
- It’s probably time to start making sure your kids have something black and white to wear for the concerts coming up in December, February and May. Everyone is required to wear some combination of black and white. Black on bottom, white on top is preferred, but all black will also be fine. No stripes, no animal print. Skirt lengths still need to be below the knee and dress pants are preferred. This allows us to focus more on the music instead of the wardrobe for the evening.
